<p>NEW CERVICAL CANCER VACCINE (GARDASIL)&#8230;..</p>
<p>GARDASIL (HPV) vaccinations are available at      all our surgeries.  The vaccine is free to eligible females, the consultation will be bulk      billed, but a fee may be payable if other problems are discussed at the time    of vaccination.</p>
<p>THE HPV PROGRAM IS AVAILABLE FREE to all females from your GP or Community immunisation provider for:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>12-13 to 18 year old girls who have not completed their course at school; and</strong></li>
<li><strong>18 to 26 year old women</strong></li>
</ul>
<p>.GARDASIL is given as a series of three injections      into upper arm muscle.  It is usually given within a six month period:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong style="margin-bottom: 0pt;">dose one:</strong> at a chosen date</li>
<li><strong style="margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;">dose two:</strong> 1-2        months after the first dose</li>
<li><strong style="margin-top: 0pt;">dose three</strong>: 4-6 months after the        first dose</li>
</ul>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0pt;">The vaccine is most effective when all three doses      have been given and the full course is completed.</p>
<p>THIS PROGRAM ENDS ON THE 31 DECEMBER 2009.</p>
<p>ALL FEMALES IN THE ABOVE AGE GROUPS MUST HAVE STARTED THE COURSE WITH THEIR <strong>FIRST DOSE OF THE VACCINE ON OR BEFORE 30 JUNE 2009, AND COMPLETE ALL 3 DOSES BY 31 DECEMBER 2009.</strong></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0pt;">HPV vaccine is available for females oldler than 26 years of age at a cost from your pharmacist, approximately $150.00 for each dose. A prescription would need to be obtained with a consultation from your GP.</p>
