Dr John Entwistle

MB.BS, (Adel), Dip.OBST.(RCOG),M.A.S.H.

Dr John Entwistle began practising from Hahndorf in 1979. His special interest in "intellectual disabilities" has broadened his vast range of skills in this area and he is currently a member on the National Disabilities Advisory Council. Other special interests include Hypnotherapy, Paediatrics, and he is heavily involved in the teaching area. Now a grandfather of two, he enjoys the variety of general medicine and lifestyle offered in the Adelaide Hills.
 


Dr Stephen Daniels
MB.BS.(Adel)

Dr Stephen Daniels joined the practice shortly after Dr John Entwistle. Special interests include Sports Medicine, Acupuncture and Anaesthetics. Both Steve and John are accredited general practice supervisors and mentors who assist qualified doctors in the completion of their vocational registration. Living and working in the Adelaide Hills has given Steve and John a broad insight into the needs and the continuity of care required in a rural community.


Dr Con Tsourtos

MB.BS, (Adel), Dip.OBST.(RACOG), Dip.Hyp.S.A.A.H.

Dr Con Tsourtos has practiced from Hahndorf  since 1988. Special interests include Paediatrics, Hypnosis and Counselling. Con has two teenage sons and enjoys the work and lifestyle offered by the Adelaide Hills community.


Dr Jane Ramsey
MB.BS,(Adel), Dip.OBST.(RACOG), F.R.A.C.G.P.Cert.Family Planning (UK)

Dr Jane Ramsey, who has two young daughters, has been with the practice for over 13 years. Jane also lives in the rural community and brings to the practice a broad range of skills and experience. Her special interests include Anaesthetics, Paediatrics and Family Planning, Women's Health and shared Obstetrics care.
 


Dr Hugh Allen

MB.BCH, B.A.O, Dip OBST.(RACOG),F.R.A.C.G.P.

Dr Hugh Allen, who has two young children, has been with the practice over 10 years and lives and works in the Balhannah, Woodside, Nairne, Mt Barker community. Special interests include Paediatrics and shared Obstetrics care, Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation and Palliative Care.

 

Dr Kate Nielsen
MB.BS.(Adel)

Dr Kate Nielsen works for the practice on a permanent part-time basis. She also consults at our Echunga Clinic on Tuesday mornings 8.30-9.30am.  Kate has excellent experience in all aspects of general practice and family medicine. She has a special interest in Women and Children's health.

Dr Susan Nugent
MB.BS.(Adel), FRACGP

Dr Susan Nugent practises from our Hahndorf surgery 4  morning sessions per week. Susan lives in the local hills community and has had extensive experience in all aspects of general practice and family medicine. Susan has a special interest in Women and Children's health.

Dr Jyothi Bhumireddy

MB.BS.

Dr Jyothi Bhumireddy practises from the Mt Barker South, Hahndorf and Woodside surgeries. Her interests lie in all aspects of general family medicine with a special interest in Paediatrics and Palliative care.

 

 


Dr Peter Frost
BM.BS, (Flinders 1983)

Consults:  Saturday mornings only at Mt Barker South surgery

Dr Peter Frost commenced with the practice in July 2002.  Peter came to us from Karoonda with his family bringing a broad range of skills and experience both from Australia and overseas. Special interests include Mental Health and Oncology.   Peter is also actively involved in several mental health advisory committees and a qualified surveyor with the Australian General Practice Accreditation Ltd.

From 23rd April 2007, Peter changed career directions and does not consult as a full time GP. 

Dr Gary Hickey
MB.BS (Monash), Dip.OBST.(RACOG), F.A.M.A.S.

Dr Gary Hickey has been with the practice over ten years and his special interests include Paediatrics and General Family Medicine and Veterans' health. He has travelled extensively overseas and worked in other areas within Australia, bringing to the practice a broad range of experience and skills to General Practice within a rural environment.

 

Dr Shirley Fung
MB.BS.(Adel), MPHC, FRACGP

Dr Shirley Fung has joined our practice and consults 4 days per week from our Hahndorf, Nairne and Woodside Surgeries. She has a special interest in Women and Children's health, dermatology (with minor procedures), shared care obstetrics and family medicine. Shirley is currently involved with the Medical Education of General Practice Registrars in the area of dermatology.

 

This Practice is accredited by the RACGP Training Program to assist fully qualified Doctors in the completion of their vocational registration and to take their skills to a higher lever of expertise.

All our doctors are vocationally registered, which means they are committed to the delivery of high quality patient care and continuing medical education.

They all bring with them many skills and special interests in women and children's health, obstetrics and gynaecology, mental health, disabilities, hypnotherapy, acupuncture, sports medicine, counselling, palliative care, oncology and drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

 

GP REGISTRARS:

Dr Kasey Wong

Dr Kasey Wong, subsequent rural term GP Registrar with the Sturt Fleurieu GP training Program, will be consulting at Hahndorf, Nairne and Mt Barker South surgeries for the next 6 months. Kasey is interested in all aspects of Family Medicine, mental health and counselling.  We WELCOME  Dr Kasey Wong to the practice.

Dr Chrishanthie Edirisuriya

Dr Chrishanthie is with this practice for 12 months completing her general practice rural term and comes to us from the Adelaide to Outback GP training program. Chrishanthie will be consulting at Hahndorf and Mt Barker South surgeries until 3 February 2009. Chrishanthie's interests lie in all aspects of general family medicine and women and children's health.  We WELCOME Dr Chrishanthie to the practice.

PODIATRIST
A Marjo Baan, consults at Mt Barker South Surgery every Wednesday. Marjo has been in practice for over 9 years and has been involved in all areas of podiatry from treating corns to assessing childrens' feet and manufacturing padded insoles and othoses.
 


McCLELLAND PHYSIOTHERAPY

PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Richard McClelland
has been working as a physiotherapist since 1995. Holding a masters degree in physio, he was selected to treat Australian and International athletes at the Sydney 2000 Olympic games.Richard is available for consultations at Hahndorf on a Monday and Friday afternoon. Please book all appointments with reception.

Physiotherapist, JOY WANG has taken on his practice at Woodside.

BOWEN THERAPIST
Heather Hartley, consults at Hahndorf on Wednesdays and Mount Barker South Surgery on Mondays.  Bowen therapy involves NO forceful manipulation - wide range of conditions may respond well to a Bowen Treatment. E.g. sport and accident injuries, frozen shoulders and tennis/golfers elbow, stress disorders, whiplash, strokes, upper and lower back pain, sciatica, respiratory problems, such as asthma, digestive, menstrual, hormonal problems.

SUPPORT STAFF

The Hahndorf Surgeries has a dedicated team of support staff. 

All staff are trained under the Royal Australian College of General Practice recommendations in ethics, efficiency and confidentiality.
